In India, a Men's Magazine Explores Stereotypical Masculinity

Every Diwali, India's annual five-day festival of lights, a Mumbai NGO known as MAVA (Men Against Violence & Abuse) publishes a magazine for men. Rather than photos of scantily clad models, this magazine contains poems and articles relating to masculinity and gender equality. "Women are very open and can discuss these matters, but men don't have the vocabulary," said Mr. Pandharinath, co-editor. "We wanted to create a space for men to talk in an open manner."
