In New Hampshire, Women Hold Top Political Seats
On Jan. 3, New Hampshire will become the first state in U.S. history with an all-female delegation. Women will hold two Senate seats, two Congressional seats as well as the governorship. On top of that, the speaker of the State House and the chief justice of the State Supreme Court are also women. “Never underestimate the power of a woman with a minivan and a cellphone,” said Maggie Hassan, the new governor. Comparatively, in only three other states do women make up even half the delegations.
