In Uruguay, Citizens Trade in Guns for Bikes

Illegal weapons are common in Uruguay (in a country with around 3 million citizens, there are about 1 million guns in civilian hands). When the government decided to help get guns off the streets, it created a gun 'buyback' program with a twist: instead of cash for a gun, you get a new bike or low-end computer.
