Millions of tons of waste end up in landfills every year, needlessly. But some great new initiatives are springing up to help mitigate the problem: city composting programs and better e-waste recycling by retailers, to name a couple.
A really fabulous one is the proliferation of creative reuse centers.
These stores sell previously owned, usually donated bulk material that’s perfectly reusable but would otherwise end up getting trashed. Great for artists, parents, teachers, crafters, scout leaders... anyone in the market for inspiring creative materials.
It’s never been easier to get your hands on these items for next to nothing—while participating in a great act of recycling.
