Modern ecovillage in Japan brings nature inside the home

The Kofunaki House (pictured) is part of a 1,000-resident ecovillage in Shiga prefecture, located near Kyoto, Japan. This design is not only sustainable, but provides an ambiance similar to an outdoor garden, with natural surfaces of wood, ample natural lighting and strategically-placed gravel gardens.
