New Bo City Market in Cedar Rapids Iowa opened in October and crossed a food desert off of the map.

A former "food desert" and the site of the great flood of 2008 in Cedar Rapids has been wiped off the map by New Bo City Market; an indoor, year-round city market featuring local meat, produce, locally owned restaurants, and artisans. The 1,500 square feet of premiere teaching space, the Kirkwood Culinary Kitchen at NewBo City Market, will be the community’s learning center for hands-on culinary and nutrition education. Year-round culinary classes are now offered.
