Kids learn not by being lectured at, but by actually getting their hands dirty and doing things. You can count on a Silicon Valley-area school to make the "doing" pretty high tech. Bullis Charter School's new "fabrication laboratory—a 'FabLab'—for its kids" opens this fall "with computer-aided design tools and a 3-D printer. Students will be able to design their ideas and then make them in real life." The hope is kids will stop chasing right answers and will embrace the create/learn process.
