Recovering unsold food for the needy

Melissa Harris-Perry profiled her newest “Foot Soldier” on Saturday: Ben Simon, a University of Maryland-College Park student who founded the Food Recovery Network, a program that recovers unsold food from college dining halls. Through student volunteers, the Network gets that food donated to neighborhood food banks and shelters.
