The traditional brick and mortar book store model is slowly fading away, but that doesn't mean print books are or ever will be dead. What it does mean, however is that we need to reexamine the way we approach the actual distribution methods. And it's not just a matter of migrating mega-stores online, a la Amazon. Some of my friends are cancelling a successful series and looking at Kickstarter as an actual distribution method. Not asking anybody to donate, but it's certainly worth a look and makes me think about other ways we can reexamine the ways we traditional do these things.
