Rosetta@home Facilitating Public Involvement in Scientific/Medical Research

Rosetta@home is just one of several distributed computing projects on the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) platform, run by the Baker laboratory at the University of Washington. This program uses idle computer processing resources from volunteers' computers to perform calculations that predict protein–protein docking, design new proteins, and do applied research on malaria, Alzheimer's disease and other pathologies.
