Alright folks, it’s time. The Offices of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWIs) issued proposed standards for how they plan to assess the diversity policies of the financial sector. (Check out my previous blog of how these standards will affect nearly 70,000 banks and other financial institutions.)
The short story is that these standards are vague and the reporting is voluntary. The important part is that each of us has the opportunity to do something about it. If they don’t hear that consumers want a financial sector that is more reflective of and invested in communities of color, not much is going to change. Step up for your communities and make your voice heard by submitting a comment.
