Multiple Sclerosis is a degeneration of the myelin sheath that covers the components of the Central Nervous System. Although it is known that the immune system begins to attack the myelin sheath cells, the reason MS occurs is currently unknown. Current research is being done in the fields of epediomiology, genetics, and immunlogy to determine the causes of MS and thus find more effective treatment.
