TED Talk: Fear Can Be Productive

"Age of Miracles" author Karen Thompson Walker explores our societal script of fear in this Ted Talk by comparing fear with imagination: both can be productive. She argues that if feeling fearful is more accepted in society, "scientific" fears such as environmental and health concerns will overshadow more irrational fears such as serial killers in the dark i.e. monsters under the bed, therefore encouraging a more proactive society of humans with productive fears.
