The Wicker Basket Pavillion - Spain at Shanghai Expo 2010
Designed by Miralles Tagliabue EMBT studio, the spanish pavillion is one of the surprises at this year's Expo in Shanghai.
They wanted to create a pavillion that was not obvious, but that transmitted clearly the passions and traditions of Spain. The result is this extraordinary pavillion made out of thousands of panels of of woven willow stems, made by artisans in Spain and China. The flexible material also allows it to become a skin, covering the curvy metal structure underneath.
