These Speakers Are Handmade from Dryer Lint and Recycled Newspaper

Specimen, based in Chicago, makes handcrafted musical instruments. They also make accessories like these speakers, which can be used to amplify instruments like the violin or banjo. The base of the speaker is made from plywood, but the top is made from a unique combination of recycled newspaper and dryer lint, covered in shellac. Lint, apparently, is a very strong material. Their website calls it "one of the earth's greatest squandered resources."
