This 17-Year-Old Built an Algae Biofuel Lab Under Her Bed (and Won $100K Science Fair)

This year's Intel Science Talent Search winner was a high school student who is researching how to make algae biofuel more economically viable. Some of her research was done in a lab at school, but the rest happened under her loft bed, where she set up a mini-lab full of algae.
