These 100 Celebrities Just Pledged To Stop Trump At All Costs

It appears Hollywood has had enough with Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, more than 100 celebrities signed a pledge to stop the Republican presidential nominee from ever stepping foot in the White House at all costs.

Signees of the pledge include Mark Ruffalo, Kerry Washington, Lena Dunham, Adam McKay, Olivia Wilde, Meg Ryan, Jane Fonda, Talib Kweli, Shonda Rhimes, and more.

The pledge reads in part:

“We are a coalition of artists who, today, are joining millions of Americans in our commitment to defeat the presumptive Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump. We believe it is our responsibility to use our platforms to bring attention to the dangers of a Trump presidency, and to the real and present threats of his candidacy.”

The pledge goes on to note Trump’s dangerous rhetoric has hit nearly every marginalized group within the United States including immigrants, the LGBTQ community, black people, Mexican people, women, Asian people, and more.

“That is why we need to unite before it is too late—for the sake of our fellow Americans and for the sake of our democracy—and why it is so critical for those of us with the privilege to speak out to do so loudly and forcefully, in our work, online, and in our communities, with all the resources we have at hand,” the pledge continues.

Before the pledge, many celebrities were already using their large platforms and powerful voices to share their concerns with fans around the globe about the potential for a Trump presidency.

Celebrities from across the industry are also lining up to show their support for Hillary Clinton. Sarah Silverman took to the podium at the Democratic National Convention Monday night to shift her support from Bernie Sanders to Clinton, telling “Bernie-or-bust” supporters “you're being ridiculous.”

Eva Longoria additionally took to the stage to emphatically call out Trump for his racist remarks against Mexican immigrants saying:

“When Donald Trump calls us criminals and rapists, he’s insulting American families. My father is not a criminal or rapist, in fact, he’s a United States veteran. When Trump cruelly mocked a disabled reporter, he was also mocking my special needs sister Lisa and many like her. When he said that a wife who works is a very dangerous thing, he not only insulted me, he insulted my mother who worked as a special education teacher for 40 years and raised four children while being a wife.”
