A 30-second time slot during the 2014 Super Bowl in New Jersey is projected to come at a $4 million price of admission, meaning it's almost guaranteed that small businesses will be priced out. Almost.
For the fist time, a small business will get a spot among titans thanks to a competition held by Intuit, a California-based software company. Their employees burned down the list of entries to four businesses, and the final selection process is open to a public vote (your vote). It's a small, but historic moment for small business. Here are the finalists:
GoldieBlox - maker of construction toys for girls. Oakland, CA.
Dairy Poop - a natural dairy compost company (sellers of poop). Nampa, ID.
Locally Laid Egg Company - a family-based, ethical egg supplier. Duluth, MN.
Barley Labs - maker of dog treats from recycled barley found
after brewing beer. Durahan, NC.
