Why Minnesota CEOs Said No to Banning Same-Sex Marriage
On Tuesday, Minnesota resoundingly rejected a constitutional amendment that would have banned same-sex marriage. It did so, in part, because of an outpouring of opposition from its business community. Corporate leaders argued that this marriage amendment would hurt their ability to attract and retain the best employees, undermine employees' engagement in their jobs, and set back corporate efforts to hire the diverse workforces necessary to serve their interests.
