I really enjoyed watching success stories coming from Guatemala we get many refugee children at our agency from Guatemala that go into our foster care program.

What is your agency Melba? Where are you based? We have been in places with so many tough situations that kids need to deal with when they are so very young. It is amazing how your own childhood problems disappear when you see 6 year olds working and caring for their families.

Great video, once again Serena. I'm always impressed by all the videos you make and the traveling you do. How do you manage to edit and carry all your gear around?

    • Serena Star Leonard

      Thanks Alessandra!
We carry some pretty big backpacks haha! We make it work with all the gear, laptops, tripods etc. We are thinking of upgrading to backpacks with wheels which will help for next year :)

Let us know if you guys need help with finding gear! Maybe we can email all the filmmakers on GOOD!

so awesome, Serena. thank you for sharing. how did you first find this story?

    • Serena Star Leonard

Hi Ben! We have been travelling through Latin America searching for stories and this one we heard about through two people - a Canadian hairdresser in Utila, Honduras and an America waitress in Guatemala!

We researched them and got in contact, but to be honest we nearly didn't get the story! We couldn't reach them until the week before we arrived in Guatemala and then in Cuba it was not until the very last day we were there that we got change to meet Axel.
Communication in Cuba is really not easy without mobile phones and internet!
