      A documentary filmmaker friend of mine recently made a film on the 'Devdasi' which you might find interesting. In Hinduism, a devadasi (Sanskrit: servant of deva or devi (god)) is a girl "dedicated" to worship and service of a deity or a temple for the rest of her life. - you can watch the film here:

        Thanks for sharing details of the app. The actress is Kalki - she's an avant garde performer who does very off beat work but in mainstream cinema in India. She is most fitting for this public service message, but yeah - her complacence does send shivers down my spine.

          Interesting. Good to know. I'm not always aware of well-known performers in other countries, so it's interesting to see how they perform, and how they deliver effective messages. That might be an interesting post, Sabah, if you know of other performers in the social change world.
