Vodacom & Fenix Int'l Partnership bring solar lighting and cell phone charging to rural Tanzania

San Francisco- based Fenix Int'l and Vodacom Tanzania are partnering to roll out ReadySet charging stations to communities living off grid areas in Tanzania. Now, it won't be necessary to walk miles to charge cell phones because shopkeepers will have access to PV and pedal-powered charging stations capable of charging 10 phones per day. The ReadySet will cost ~$200 and generate $40-$50 income per month for shopkeepers. It can also power an LED light bulb (or even a tablet computer).
