America’s disproportionate sweetheart, Barbie, has taken a lot of flack recently for her unrealistic curves and materialistic attitude. So, graphic designer Nickolay Lamm created a Barbie based on the Center for Disease Control’s actual average proportions of a 19-year-old woman. Lamm took the CDC’s data to create a 3-D model of “Normal Barbie” and then used a 3-D printer to create the plastic doll. “I created Normal Barbie because I want to show that average is beautiful,” Lamm said.

Here’s what she looks like next to her taller, curveless “ideal.”

If Barbie was a real person...

-- At 5’9” tall and weighing 110 lbs, Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and
fit the weight criteria for anorexia. She likely would not menstruate.

-- If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her
proportions.

-- Barbie would be 5’9” tall, have a 39” bust, an 18” waist, 33” hips and a size 3 shoe!

-- With a 16” waist, Barbie only has room for half a liver and a few inches of intestine.
-- Barbie’s 3.5” wrists would make her incapable of lifting anything.

The more you look at it, Normal Barbie looks like a great catch compared to her mildly-deformed counterpart.
