Adrian Peterson Escorted Through A Bar After Knee Injury

Who’s idea was this?

Last Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings celebrated their first regular season game in the newly-opened U.S. Bank Stadium with a 17-14 win over the Green Bay Packers. So far, most Vikings fans have given the 1.1 billion-dollar stadium rave reviews for its translucent roof, world’s largest glass pivoting doors, and impressive views of downtown Minneapolis. But one player who won’t be singing its praises anytime soon is Viking’s running back Adrian Peterson.

During the third quarter in the U.S. Bank regular season opener, Peterson went down with an injured right knee. While in most stadiums injured players are carried off the field into a private tunnel, at U.S. Bank, players must suffer the indignity of a long trip through the Delta Sky 360 Club. In the video, Peterson winces in pain while a bunch of partiers stare at him clutching cocktails.

Yesterday, it was announced that Peterson had suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and he Vikings have yet to announce whether he will play on Sunday versus Carolina. “We’re going through the evaluation process,” coach Mike Zimmer said in his news conference. Should Peterson require surgery, he could be out up to ten weeks, a huge blow to a team that already lost its starting quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, to a season-ending injury during a preseason practice.
