Wisdom is winning. In the past decade, more than a dozen states have legalized medical marijuana, with recreational industries developing in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Alaska. Cannabis is now legal in some form in just over half of the country, and the Democratic Party recently wrote federal pot policy reform into its platform. The shift is remarkable and seemingly unstoppable as cannabis transforms food, health, culture, and business. The innovation is global—Colombia, Spain, and Australia have already legalized it in their respective countries—and happening at a pace that even the most optimistic advocates find dizzying.
