Welcome to The Long Game project. In partnership with Hennessy, GOOD will set out on a journey to focus on the impact, benefits, and risks of long-term thinking. Today, we routinely focus on short-term decision-making, maximizing profits, showing up just in time, and feeding a collective short attention span, but Hennessy has stayed true to its original philosophy of crafting cognac for future generations. Their belief is to invest in advancing current knowledge to preserve their heritage and craftsmanship for generations to come. This could also be applied to some of our most pressing social issues. What would it look like if leaders in business, science, politics, and society were willing to risk short-term gratification for long-term social progress? Would cities become more equitable? Would trade become fairer? Would we become more reasonable and understanding of one another? The Long Game will explore these questions and highlight the people and organizations putting these long-term values into practice across the globe.
