Watch: Obama's 60 Minutes Interview on Osama bin Laden Raid

President Barack Obama gave his first interview after the killing of Osama bin Laden. We learned the risks were even bigger than we thought, and got a better picture of what it was like for the president in the situation room as the raid in Abbottobad unfolded.

The president said it was the longest 40 minutes of his life, except for a medical scare his daughter went through.

For one, he wasn't watching bullets fly on a screen. He tells us what he knew as the raid was happening and what he could see in the situation room. "We had a sense when gunfire took place," he says, which means he wasn't actually seeing a live helmet cam feed as was originally suggested in the media—we've compiled all the variants of the original story in a post here. More interesting though, is that the raid was hardly a sure thing. Obama:

At the end of the day, this was still a 55/45 situation. I mean we could not say definitively that bin Laden was there. Had he not been there, then there would have been some significant consequences. Obviously, we're going into the sovereign territory of another country and landing helicopters and conducting a military operation. And so if it turns out that it's a wealthy, you know, prince from Dubai who's in this compound and, you know, we've sent Special Forces in, we've got problems.
