Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded today to Bangladeshi economist Muhammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank, which provides microfinance loans to poor Bangladeshis, and basically pioneered the idea of microfinance. Congratulations. To see the good company Mr. Yunus is in, check out this list of Peace Prize winners.

In our first issue, GOOD profiled Kiva, part of a new generation of microfinanciers using the internet to spread the idea of microfinance across the world.
