The Lottery

  • Posted by:

After every election passes with such small amount of people voting, pundits often try to come up with new ways to encourage the large block of non-voting citizens to get their asses to the polls. The newest idea: a lottery. If you vote, you might win a million dollars. That’s Mike Osterloh’s idea in Arizona, and he’s collected enough signatures to get a referendum on the ballot for the 2006 election. Needless to say, many people don’t think it’s a good idea for people to be voting for money instead of issues. Also, it appears to be illegal. Just a few hiccups.
