Winner: Create a Local's Guide to Your City

Check out the winner of our competition to create a local's guide to your city.

We asked the GOOD community to create a local's guide to your city. We received maps and to-do lists from all over the world, highlighting not-to-be-missed neighborhood gems, dive bars, and mom-and-pop restaurants.

After posting some of our favorite submissions, GOOD readers voted for their favorite entry. Congratulations to Adam Johnson from Asheville, North Carolina. Adam explains: "Asheville, North Carolina is a place many have been but few have really experienced. This guide I created should help navigate your way to a few local spots that will make you feel like you are a proud Ashevillian."

Project: Create a Local's Guide to Your City

Help out visitors to your city by creating a one-of-a-kind, locals-approved guide to what you think is worth seeing while they’re in town.

the THEME
Ever arrived in a new city stoked to check out the local culture and ended up sucked into a tourist trap of souvenir shops or, worse, ordering a Big Mac at McDonald's? This summer, help out visitors to your city by creating a one-of-a-kind, locals-approved guide to what you think is worth seeing while they’re in town. Draw a map, take photos—get creative! Then share it with the GOOD community. Maybe you’ll find a guide to your vacation destination while you’re at it!

Yesterday on Twitter and Facebook, we asked our friends: What idea from another city do you wish your own city would implement? Tell us where and why. We ask a question to our Twitter and Facebook faithful once a day, so if you’re not yet following @GOOD or a fan, make sure to sign up and participate in the conversation.

Check out what our Twitter followers had in mind:
