The High Line Opens and It Looks Phenomenal

After years of dreaming, designing, and campaigning, the first section of the High Line park-built on top of an old elevated rail structure-opened in New York yesterday. We've been following this project for a while (in 2006, GOOD cited the High Line as an example of "the next generation of American public spaces") and it's very nice to see it come to fruition.

Inhabitat has a big set of pictures. Is that a chaise lounge on train tracks?
