March 19, 2014

When you think of New York City, the first thing you think about probably isn’t gardens. But it is for Stephen Ritz, a public school teacher in the Bronx and founder of Green Bronx Machine. Ritz is teaching underserved students to understand and appreciate where their food comes from. Check out the video above to see how Ritz is getting his hands dirty to make progress by opening kids’ eyes to the value of home-grown edibles.

After watching, tell us about a progress maker you think deserves a spotlight. Is it you?

Progressive and GOOD have teamed up to create The Progress Is GOOD Challenge. The top nominee will win a custom GOOD video to share his or her story. Learn more here.
