What role does calculus play in making the Bay Bridge earthquake safe? Students in the Linked Learning high school program—part of ConnectEd in California—are learning to connect the dots to answers questions just like this. Linked Learning’s mission is simple: prepare all students for both college and their career. Through classroom curriculum that is infused with real-world application and completing internships, students are learning how to think on their feet, be innovative and creative, and develop interpersonal and professional skills.

Students in Linked Learning are getting an honest answer to, “Why do I need to know this?” See how their academic foundation combined with lessons around 21st century skills is enabling students to adapt to changes for years to come.

This is the fifth of six videos in the Teaching for Tomorrow series, which explores learning approaches that best prepare students for the workforce of the 21st century.
