Foxie was born in 1976 and spent the next 22 years as a lab test animal for hepatitis vaccines. She bore children but was forced to give them up to create more test subjects. Finally, in 2008, she was retired to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest, 90 miles outside of Seattle, Washington. When she arrived at the sanctuary, Foxie was deemed dangerous to humans, but she found friendship with fuzzy-headed troll dolls, which she takes with her wherever she goes. According to the sanctuary, “A lot of people ask why Foxie Chimpanzee loves troll dolls. It’s really anybody’s guess what the attraction is, but we’re happy she found something she loves that she can enjoy every day at the sanctuary.”

Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest provides lifetime quality care for formerly abused and exploited chimpanzees while advocating for great apes.

He stopped to pick up some trash by the road. Inside was a parent's worst nightmare.

Character is often revealed in small, unseen moments. For Shawn Davis, that moment arrived at a gas station in Texas when he spotted a piece of paper lying on the ground. According to a report from KENS 5, the paper was worn, bearing tire marks that suggested it had been there for some time.

Davis decided to do a simple good deed and clear away the litter. “I thought, ‘Hey, I'll just throw that away real quick,’” he recalled in a statement to LOCAL 12. But when he picked it up, he noticed it felt heavy. His curiosity led him to open it, revealing an envelope filled with a stack of $20 bills and a personal money order.

In a now-viral TikTok video, LissaJade (@Lissa.jade1) revealed the touching transformation of her daughter's bedroom entrance into a private "apartment door." She painted the door a rich cerulean blue and adorned it with a wreath, a mailbox, a doormat, and the number "206." She even installed a working doorbell.

He accidentally bought an entire street for $5,000. The city's response made it a nightmare.

In 2021, Jason Fauntleroy thought he was making a straightforward investment, placing a $5,000 bid at a sheriff's auction for a vacant plot of land in Trenton, Ohio. But when the deed was finalized, he discovered he had purchased much more than he bargained for: the lot, and the entire private road it was attached to, Bloomfield Court.

The bizarre mix-up, which even Trenton's City Manager Marcos Nichols admitted he couldn't fully explain, instantly made Fauntleroy the owner of a street lined with five homes and responsible for its maintenance. What began as a simple land purchase soon spiraled into a multi-year battle with the city, as reported by WCPO 9.
