The 1990s might seem like they were yesterday. But in certain respects, they may have felt like the Dark Ages if you weren’t straight and cisgender.
On April 25, 1993 over 1 million people marched on Washington, D.C. demanding equal rights for LGBT people.
The primary demands were the pasage of an LGBT civil rights bill, an increase in fundng for HIV/AIDS research and education, and inclusion in the military.
