The word 'pho' (for the delicious Vietnamese noodle soup) has to be one of the most frequently mispronounced food words among English speakers. People see the 'ph' and assume that the word is pronounced like 'phone' without the 'ne.' In reality, it's like 'fun' without the 'n,' (but with all the fun).
I offer this advice not to be a stickler, but because proper pronunciation is essential for seeing the humor in pho restaurant name puns, which have become quite trendy on the pho scene. Check out this slideshow of the some of the punnier (and phonnier) pho restaurant names from around North America.
