Yale University has just released 170,000 photographs from 1935 to 1945 taken by the United States Farm Security Administration and Office of War Information. The photos document the struggle of the Great Depression and were taken by notable photographers of the era, including: Dorothea Lange, Walker Evans, and Arthur Rothstein.
This unique database is accessible via a large map of the U.S. broken into counties, each one linking to a gallery of photos taken in that region.
