Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer has been making a splash all over the place. A solid Democrat in a solid red state, he is still immensely popular. He has started advocating the use of an old technology, known as the Fischer-Tropsch process, which essentially converts coal into diesel fuel. Because America, while lacking in oil, has a bunch of coal. Gristmill takes a look.
