How Health Care Reform Would Work: The Flowchart

Yes, the bill is 1,000 pages long, but you can still understand the broad contours of the new health care system being debated everywhere. Here, via Ezra Klein, is a handy flowchart from Donkylicious.

It seems like it’s to the advantage of those who like the status quo (insurance companies, e.g.) to promote this idea that the whole issue is so complex as to be beyond everyone’s comprehension. Don’t believe them. You can still learn what you can. In fact, I think having to demonstrate a mastery of this flowchart might make sense as a minimum requirement to attend any town hall forums on the issue.

What?! Just 4 colors (not counting black — the absense of color)??! Where are the garish, clashing, criss-crossing lines? the angry reds? the jarring yellows?
I agree, this is far too calm to have anything to do with health care. Where are the death panels?! Where’s Obama with a Hitler moustache? I WANT MY AMERICA BACK, etc etc
