As we head into the last year of the two thousand aughts, we take a look at some of the numbers that shaped our lives this past year.  Thanks for the memories, 2008.

    It is not true to say that Iceland has no army. Just that it outsourced its defence completely to the USA and Nato.

    It concerns me that there was no mention of the atrocities taking place in the Congo or Darfur.  This was a “good” summary of events in the world but deeply important issues were missed.

    The state of the planet from pro-western US perspective.  Please be a little bit more precise in your titling and reporting.  Pollution and climate change are problems that are single-handedly created by the West with the consumption of fossil fuel since the industrial revolution and consumer-based economy.  Of course you want to conveniently ignore this fact.
