Who's generating the most electricity from renewable sources-and which ones are they using?

As of 2006, only about 18 percent of the energy produced worldwide for electricity was renewable. The bulk of that comes from hydroelectric dams-which we now know disrupt freshwater ecosystems. Other types of energy, however, are on the rise. This is a look at which countries are producing the most renewable energy for electricity. Click here to launch the renewable energy infographic.
