The Dalai Lama's Donald Trump Impression Is Spot On

“His mouth is small”

During an interview on “Good Morning Britain” on Wednesday, Piers Morgan asked the Dalai Lama what many Americans want to know: What does the spiritual leader think of Donald Trump?

The Dalai Lama offered his standard answer that he does not know what to think of the Republican presidential candidate because they’ve never met in person. That being said, he did come to a few conclusions about the former steak peddler’s appearance. As in, the Dalai Lama seems to find Trump’s expressions ridiculous (and rightly so).

In a spot on impression of Trump, the Dalai Lama mimicked a poof of hair with his hand and puckered his lips to resemble Trump’s tiny mouth. “His mouth is small,” he said, opening and closing his mouth like a guppy out of water. Morgan couldn’t help but burst into laughter when the Dalai Lama mimed Trump’s behavior and said, “That’s my impression.”

While he didn’t have any other specific critiques for Trump, it would make sense for the Dalai Lama to feel uncomfortable with the former “Apprentice” host’s policies. The Tibetan monk has been actively defending refugee rights along with the benefits of multiculturalism as of late—two things Trump has been ardently against. While it wouldn’t be in the Dalai Lama’s style to hurl Trump-level insults, he did say this about the candidate during an interview on ABC in March:

“A serious discussion about policy matters is useful. But sometimes a little bit personal criticism—that looks a little bit cheap. That’s my view.”

Take note, Mr. Trump. If there’s anything you don’t like, it’s looking cheap.
