Well, we can still debate whether it's fair or balanced, but Fox News is the network America trusts more than any other, according to a new poll by Public Policy Polling. From the Guardian:
Almost half of all Americans surveyed in the poll of 1,151 registered voters said they trusted Fox News. That is a notably larger vote of confidence than the 39% who said they trusted Fox's great rival CNN, and vastly more than the credibility ratings of the traditional news networks ABC News (31%), CBS News (32%) and NBC News (35%).It's interesting to note that no network here is trusted by a majority. I wonder how NPR would score. But Fox's comparatively high numbers are still a damn shame because, in fact, Fox is a terrible source of information (see screenshot).I think it might actually be because Fox is so biased that people trust the network. Fox has this "we're the only ones brave enough to give it to you straight" shtick going on that (if you buy it) shores up your belief that they're on your side and undermines your trust in all other sources of information.
