Meet David Donaldson, a 25-year-old Teach for America corps member who teaches at a charter school in Baltimore. When he's not teaching English to ninth and tenth graders, he dreams of someday becoming superintendent of Detroit's Public Schools.Donaldson is featured in a story that I wrote in today's New York Times about a new study out by Doug McAdam, a sociologist at Stanford. It shows that dedication to improving society at large does not necessarily extend beyond the two-year Teach for America commitment.Already Rob Reich, a former corps member and current professor of political science at Stanford who is also featured in the article, has weighed in.I'm eager to hear your feedback. Also, be sure to check out a great slideshow of Donaldson's classroom here.Photo via
