Adam Sjoberg is an artist and self-described “vagabond photographer and filmmaker.” His work varies from commercial projects; fashion shoots for the likes of designer Vera Wang; and documentary pieces that have appeared on the BBC World News, and in the New York Times.
Sjoberg is the founder of Loose Luggage Media, a company whose vision is to create photography and short films for nonprofits, fashion brands, magazines, large corporations, and individuals. Many of the projects focus on packing up a bag and traipsing around the world, a concept close to Sjoberg’s heart. Since he founded Loose Luggage Media in 2005, Sjoberg has traveled to more than 35 countries.
This year he will wrap Shake the Dust, a documentary about break-dancing and hip-hop in unlikely places like Yemen, Uganda, and Colombia, focusing on how the youth in these communities are using creative expression for social change.
“I’m hoping to wrap production by July 2013 and finish post-production in time for the late Sundance Film Festival submission deadline in September,” Sjoberg says. “This will be a stretch, but is doable.”
We can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
