The Jezebel site will offer an “irreverent” take on the women’s grooming industry.
Someone at Jezebel recognized a need for a beauty site that delivers all the good make-up tips with a side of snark and feminist verve and they made it happen. It’s called Millihelen and it promises to help you navigate the grooming industry. The name refers to Helen of Troy, the woman whose face helped launch a thousand ships, who was also complete lie (it’s not something the Jezebel came up with on their own but a preexisting expression). A millihelen is a humorous unit of measure: the amount of beauty it takes to launch just one ship. We hope you'll enjoy our irreverent take on the beauty world. We'll be doing makeovers, makeunders, DIY projects, advice, shopping lists, experiments, reviews, and all kinds of nonsense.
