We've been ramping up the education blog on GOOD. You can see all our recent posts on our education hub. Each week, we'll bring you a quick weekly roundup on what we covered. Here's the first.Considering the dearth of headline grabbing education news, there was lots of ground to cover, and some interesting debate to be had.We started the week in New Orleans, looking at an innovative new program that aims to give a boost to arts education while also encouraging the fine American tradition of national service. MuscianCorps is attracting some impressive artists to teach in underserved U.S. schools, and Justin Vogt spent a little time with one of them to get a sense of how it's going.Speaking of innovation, Harvard jumped into the education reform game by announcing the launch of a new educaton-leadership doctoral-its first new degree in well over half a century. Best of all? The program is free.Meanwhile, we asked you some questions and you weighed in. You commented and tweeted about whether politcal debates belong in the classroom; we also asked you when you think it makes sense to drop out of college.Stay tuned for much more where all that came from, and have a great weekend.Image via
