Three Repubs Approve of Obama's Enormous Package

That's right, folks. You can thank Republican Senators Arlen Specter, of Pennsylvania, and Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine (as well as all 58 Democrats) for voting to make the $838 billion economic stimulus package a reality, though it still needs to go back to the House for "negotiations."Given that The Three (that's what we're calling these risk-taking trail-blazers) were the only Republicans in Congress to break party lines, they'll either go down in history as saviors or scapegoats. That, of course, depends on whether the economy, um, stimulates-stocks, it should be noted, haven't exactly skyrocketed in response to the news (though that may also be because of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's not-so-stimulating speech this morning on the semi-inscrutable plans for  TARP, part two.)What do you think: is this plan just what the doctor ordered?
