Do you know what empathy is? Empathy is a foundational, connective tool that helps humans build trust and closeness in relationships. Most people understand it as an emotional connection, a feeling that helps us resonate with the life challenges another person may be going through.
Highly intelligent people (HIP) can seem standoffish, as if they don't fully understand others emotionally. The truth may lie in how they connect, through a different form of empathy.

For most people, standing at the edge of a dark, subterranean void is the stuff of nightmares. For the @ActionAdventureTwins, it is just a Tuesday.
In a video that has racked up hundreds of thousands of views, the YouTube duo (James and Edward) teamed up with fellow explorers Nate and Ben to capture footage of one of the most intimidating geological features in the United States. They took a GoPro camera, attached it to a long rope, and lowered it into the "Fantastic Pit."

Richard Feynman is one of the top scientific minds in modern history. He was invited to participate in the Manhattan Project, helping develop the first atomic bomb. When the Challenger shuttle tragically exploded, it was Feynman who figured out what went wrong to prevent future NASA disasters. He was even given the Nobel Prize for his work in physics for essentially remaking the concept of quantum electrodynamics. He was also riddled with self doubt, incredibly unsure of himself, and criticized people of high intelligence.

Many people, through the media and our culture in general, seem to be determined to slow down the hands of time. Skincare routines and fashion to make us look younger are constantly advertised. Ads for medications, supplements, and diet plans promoting feeling younger are everywhere. While doctors do recommend certain healthcare plans and suggestions to help our bodies function well as we age, the old folks who've reached a “certain age” realized there are some perks to reaching their “golden years.”
In 2023, a woman who turned 108-years-old discussed that one of the perks of being of advanced age is that not only do people treat you well and are friendly toward you, but that “everything is special” since she knows she won’t be around to experience certain small pleasures again. She takes nothing for granted, making her happier than she would’ve been in her early adulthood.

        New owners of the beloved 'Home Alone' house want to restore its nostalgic '90s magic

The McCallister house from Home Alone has become synonymous with '90s nostalgia. The sprawling, 9,100-square-foot Colonial, located north of Chicago in Winnetka, Illinois, instantly conjures holiday family chaos and Kevin’s numerous showdowns with the "Wet Bandits." But after the house went on the market in 2024, a lot of fans were shocked by its sleek, modernized look. Now the new owner, who purchased the property for $5.5 million in January, has pledged to restore the colorful vibes we’ve come to associate with the 1990 Macaulay Culkin classic.
Scott Price, project manager behind the renovation, spoke to NBC Chicago about the project, saying, "Our vision is to bring back the warmth and just the love from the movie." The current owner is reportedly paying for the updates, and they appear to be going all the way: "There was so many great colors," Price said of the original aesthetic, "and it just made you feel like family and like home and we want to bring that magic back."

Sometimes people can't help themselves. They engage in behaviors that are certainly not in the best interest of their health, but they do them anyway. And plenty of people seem destined to land themselves in a hospital emergency room.
There are others living lives where not much is happening out of the ordinary. And then they feel compelled to rush to the emergency room, seemingly for nothing. Others, meanwhile, have the weirdest things happen that land them in that very same place.

A classic story from the Reddit community r/MaliciousCompliance is making the rounds again, detailing one receptionist's legendary response to an entitled guest. The employee, who was working the night shift at a hotel that was fully booked, faced a woman who marched in with a piece of paper and an attitude.

For 33 years, Li Jingwei had no idea where he came from. Kidnapped from his village in 1989 at the age of four, he grew up in a different province with a different family. He eventually forgot his birth name and the names of his parents. But there was one thing he never forgot: the landscape of his home.
Images of a specific bamboo grove, a small pond, and a winding road near a school were etched into his memory. In late 2021, inspired by other high-profile family reunions in China, Li decided to trust those memories.
