In the Studio is a pretty straightforward project: Matthew Yake photographs artists in their studios, surrounded by the materials they use to make their artwork. Yake always shoots them relatively straight on, using bright studio lights to capture the full scene. The resulting images let the spaces speak for themselves, giving viewers an eyeful of the details in these personal spaces. They give us a window into an inspiring, creative atmosphere that encourages us to feel productive and makes us wonder what these artists are building.
Yake links to the work of each of the artists featured on his website, where you can also see more of his photo projects.
